Dr. Donn Mendoza
Dr. Donn Mendoza has served as Superintendent of Round Lake Area Schools since 2018, leading a district of more than 6,000 students and 1,000 staff across 14 schools. With over 28 years of educational leadership experience, he has also served as Superintendent in Crystal Lake and as a principal and district leader in Barrington and Carpentersville.
Dr. Mendoza holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Northern Illinois University and is recognized for advancing fiscal stability, academic innovation, and labor-management collaboration. Under his leadership, Round Lake has seen significant gains in student achievement, graduation rates, and college and career readiness. A dedicated community leader, he also serves on several executive boards and was named Lake County Superintendent of the Year (2022).
